![]() 7th April 2016 Elland Golf Club, Hammerstone Leach Lane, Elland, HX5 0TA Following his success at the Holywell Community Music Festival in 2015, Dave Nachmanoff was back at Elland Golf Club as part of his solo European Tour. Dave has been joined on this tour by rhythm guitarist and photographer Anne Burghard. A fabulous evening was had by the well attended audience, with another festival favourite, Plumhall opening the evening with their set of wonderfully crafted songs, sublime music and harmonies. Dave took us upto the interval singing songs from his new album, Spinoza's Dream, a cleverly crafted, philosophically themed album, featuring musicians who played with Al Stewart on his classic albums. On a couple of songs Dave invited Nick and Michelle from Plumhall to join him on backing vocals. At the interval, everyone tucked into the delicious Steak Pie and peas, prepared by the Golf Club Steward Tracey, and readied themselves for the second half of the show.. The second half followed the same format as the first with Plumhall performing their second set, and Dave Nachmanoff completing the evening with his set of philosophical songs and songs from previous albums including a rousing rendition of 'Sheila Won't Be Coming Home', with Plumhall providing backing vocals. Thanks must go out to Dave and Plumhall for a fabulous evening of music, John Walsh for organising the evening, Bev Walsh and Emma Smith for manning the door, Heather Stead for Raffle Ticket sales, Dave Kingman for his help setting up, Martyn Foulds for comparing the evening, Tracey for the fabulous food and finally the golf club bar staff for keeping our glasses full! Now for the summer festival ... watch this space! Here is a taster of the evening with that Holywell favourite. Sheila Won't Be Coming Home
